I AM …
Our small group meeting offers the opportunity to meet in a comfortable home setting and to talk about God and the world, to share joys and sorrow in prayer. At present we are going through a topical series which deals with famous words of Jesus in the Gospel of John.
We are glad about new participants. If you would like to know where in Chemnitz we meet, please use our contact form.
Our teenagers meet each 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. There is topical input from the Bible, we are creative, play board games and there is always something going on.
Our current topic is: “Humans may plan … but God is in control”. To which extent does the sovereign God intervene in his creation and in the life of people? What is our responsibility? Is everything just freedom or has our fate been set? Does the Bible teach what great thinkers such as Augustin and Calvin taught a long time ago? What exactly happens through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ? Do redeemed people have to worry for their salvation until the end or is there a biblical assurance of salvation?
Extra-Bibles are available. No prior knowledge required.
A cup of coffee is waiting in the kitchen for those who arrive earlier.
Our teenagers meet in the youth room immediately on the right beside the main entrance. Right now we are about half a dozen participants and there is still room for you.
for children up to elementary school:
For the little ones there is a children’s Bible class with craft activities in the room immediately on the left to the main entrance.
On every first day of the week we come together in order to celebrate what God did for us through Jesus. (Before that, there is Bible class from 9:30 – 10:15 am). We sing, listen to God’s word from Scripture, pray and participate in the meal which Jesus instituted for His remembrance. A sermon of about 20-30 min. will highlight a topic of faith.
This event is in GERMAN (translation into English will be provided upon request).
Children and guests are always welcome here. Right after the beginning there is a short worship activity for children. For about 5 min. they can learn and talk about a simplified topic, sing a song and pray together (parents may also come forward and sit in front with their children).
Our guests should not feel obliged in any way. All that is required is an open heart. Feel free to simply pass on the bread and the fruit of the wine to your neighbor when it is passed around, there is no obligation to take from it. Also, our weekly collection is a free-will contribution of money by the members of this congregation – there are no church taxes nor entrance fees. We also don’t have a special dress code – we only ask that everyone dresses in a way which does not draw away attention from the worship of God. Feel free to ask questions or request prayer. At the end there is always time for more conversation.
